Mick and Caths 2000 gallon pond was completed early in 2003 and is an informal kidney shape. In 2005 Mick made a number of improvements, the rockery waterfall has been replaced with a series of steps, down which the water cascades. This also incorporates a number of rocks and figurines. The second addition is the pergola which adds a real finishing touch to the whole area.
Mick is still using his 300 gallon quarantine tank in his garage which has also been useful this year dealing with one or two poorly fish.
This is a semi formal pond in an informal garden. There is also a natural pond with a waterfall cascading behind, this leads in to a small stream which appears to run into the Koi pool. The garden is totally walled lending itself to the many shrubs and Acers which flourish in this setting.
The pond contains 6000 gallons with an additional 1500 gallons in the filters. It was built in re-enforced concrete blocks which were rendered and finally fibre-glassed. 36 assorted Koi.

Paul and Karen have a formal circular pond completed in August 2000. They built a conservatory enclosing half of the pond so they could enjoy their koi all year round. It is home to 15 koi who have the luxury of living inside or outside.
The pond is formed in concrete and is fitted with a tailored liner and is 13' diameter x 6' deep containing 3500 gallons.
Paul has a 450 gallon quarantine tank set up in the garage which at present remains empty whilst waiting for some new fish.

The pond and summer house were built on the site of an old 30' greenhouse in Spring 2005. The pond is part sunken with breeze block walls and timber decking facia. It has a Box Weld liner and 2 x 4" bottom drains to the vegetable filter.
The 300 gallon vegetable filter doubles as a settlement area and also has a Box Weld liner. The plants are in baskets suspended in the water so that their roots hang down into the water flow. It is home to about a gazillion water snails and other wildlife.
The submersible pump is at the far end of the vegetable filter and pumps to the 50 gallon water tank in the summerhouse and then, with the help of gravity, back to the pond
